Under the impact of COVID-19 pandemics, the growing use of wet sanitary and disinfectant wipes as effective products for skin surface cleaning and disinfection is pushing up the demand. Wipes have become necessities in people's daily life, and been widely used in hospitals and medical institutions as well.

Wiping material is the largest application field of spunlaced nonwovens. According to the statistics of the China Nonwovens & Industrial Textiles Association (CNITA), China produced 698,000 tons of spunlaced nonwovens in 2019, an increase of 8.6 percent over the same period last year, accounting for about 70 percent of the global spunlaced nonwovens production. China’s spunlaced cloth production capacity provides a strong assurance of raw material supply for the steady growth of the wipes market in Asia and around the world.

Economic growth, the joint efforts from the upstream and downstream of wipes industry, as well as the change of people's consumption concepts and upgrade of hygiene awareness, have been in the past decade pulling the Asian wipes industry onto a rapid development trend and placing Asia the 3rd largest market in the world only next to North America and Europe. With the constant emergence of various innovative, environment-friendly and functional raw materials and products to debut and to satisfy the different requirements, it is safe to predict that the future development of Asian wipes industry will continue to grow and prosper in a vigorous way.
